The rules.
Short version.
Last updated: April 21, 2026
These Terms are the agreement between you and Ember when you use the app. They're short because we want them read.
1. Who you are using this with
Ember is provided by the individual developer of the Ember app, reachable at hello@adhdfocus.app. Place of establishment: Germany. Contact is by email.
2. What Ember is — and isn't
Ember is a productivity and habit-tracking app designed with ADHD adults in mind. It is:
- Not a medical device.
- Not a substitute for therapy, medication, or professional diagnosis.
- Not a crisis line. The in-app crisis screen lists external services; please use them in an emergency.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password or sign-in method safe.
- One account per person is our default expectation.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.
4. Premium subscriptions
- Ember Premium is available as a monthly subscription (USD 4.99), annual subscription (USD 39.99), or one-time lifetime purchase (USD 69.99). Local currency prices may differ.
- Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your app-store settings.
- Cancel at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
- Refunds are handled by the app store, not by us — contact Apple or Google for refund requests.
- Lifetime purchases are tied to the app-store account that bought them and follow that platform's family-sharing rules.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't use Ember to harm yourself or anyone else. Specifically:
- No harassment, impersonation, or abusive content in any interactive feature we add.
- No using feedback, captures, or any text field to send spam or illegal content.
- No attempts to reverse-engineer the API, circumvent rate limits, or access data that isn't yours.
If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. We'll email you first unless the breach is severe.
6. Future interactive features
Some planned features, such as Focus Rooms, may add real-time interaction later. They are not part of the first public release. If we add them, they will be governed by the acceptable-use rules above and the privacy policy will be updated before public availability.
7. Your content stays yours
You own what you put into Ember — habits, captures, feedback, photos. By using the app you grant us a narrow licence to store and display it back to you (necessary to operate the service). We don't train AI models on your content without explicit consent.
8. Our content
The Ember brand, logo, copy, and design belong to us. You can screenshot the app for personal use or reviews. Please don't reproduce the brand in a way that suggests affiliation.
9. Service changes
We add features and retire some. If we retire a paid feature, we'll email you at least 30 days ahead and pro-rate any remaining subscription time you paid for that feature.
10. Liability
Ember is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights under EU law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer in the EU, mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence still apply.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first — most issues resolve in one round. For formal disputes you may use the EU online dispute-resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes
If we change these Terms materially, we'll surface a notice on next app launch and the date above will update. Continued use after that counts as acceptance. If you disagree, you can cancel from Settings.
